Agenda
Please join us for a group breakfast from 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM in the exhibit hall at dedicated tables. The symposia will start at 8:45 AM and end at 12:00 PM.
Hour 1: Identifying Your Core Values. This segment presents the idea of discovering and recognizing the importance of identifying our individual, unique set of deepest values. It guides participants in acknowledging and defining what those values represent. Learners will differentiate between their deepest core values, asserting that in a world that is constantly changing in ways we often cannot control, what we CAN control is our response to external circumstances. Responding from our deepest core values significantly increases the likelihood that we'll feel empowered, clear, focused, and in integrity with ourselves, regardless of the situation. The interactive section will concentrate on identifying personal core values from a comprehensive list and strategically narrowing them down to a maximum of eight. Table discussions will emerge from selecting unexpected or previously unrecognized values while also recognizing identity through these values.
Hour 2: Owning Ourselves and Generating Possibility. Participants will explore how they align with, live by, and honor their core values in this segment. This sometimes-vulnerable exercise is grounded in the belief that to feel empowered in navigating our lives and managing our time, we must first recognize what is truly happening. It's not about self-criticism or fixating on our flaws. It's about taking the time to acknowledge and respect the ways we align with our core values, noticing the impact this has, embracing it, and recognizing where we can bring more focus, make changes, or take even small steps to connect with who we are at our core… to engage with life from that perspective… to determine what changes to make from here, even in small yet significant ways. The interactive section enables participants to assess and explore their current level of alignment with each core value. This discussion will foster awareness of where each participant stands in relation to who they truly are. It will also generate numerous ideas for actions related to the highest-priority core values and establish clear commitments to those actions.
Hour 3: Using Core Values to Affect and Change Scenarios from Work and Life. In our third and final segment, participants will learn another way to apply their newly recognized Core Values: to impact and transform the typical scenarios in work and life where they often feel inadequate, become frustrated, or fail to act in ways that make them proud. They will equip themselves with strategies to bring their values into real time, creating a tangible difference in reducing drama and stress while enhancing their empowerment in challenging situations. The interactive section will have participants brainstorming common work-related scenarios that are universally relatable (such as angry clients, double bookings, emergencies, getting home late, etc.). For each scenario, they will work individually to identify a core value. Applying this value the next time a similar scenario arises can influence their choices regarding how to act or respond, what they would do or not do, and what they would say or not say. Participants will leave equipped with an internally aligned “intervention” for a typical negative scenario they expect to encounter soon.
